Keep an eye on:
Victor Wembanyama: for obvious reasons. Wembanyama is well on his way to being one of (if not the best) player in the NBA in next few years. 7'4 with guard skills, athleticism and versatility to score from all three levels, make plays, rebound at a high level, defend multiple positions and be an elite rim protector, Wembanyama is a one man wrecking crew. Washington's front court will need to be physical and alert in many ways, CONSISTENTLY, or it will be a very long night for the Wizards. The favorite for Rookie of the Year comes in averaging 19.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, both team highs, and a NBA leading 3.1 blocks on 46.1 percent shooting from the field, 29 percent from deep and 80.6 percent from the free throw line.
Spurs Ball Movement: is among the best in the league and can stress defenses. San Antonio comes in 5th in the NBA in assists per game, dishing out 28.9 assists as a team. Tre Jones leads the way individually, handling out 5.3 assists per game for San Antonio. Washington, again, has to be on a string defensively and be on a string consistently or multiple players will be in rhythm to do a lot of damage.
Marvin Bagley III: had a great debut for Washington in their loss to New York, finishing with 20 points, 11 rebounds,, 3 blocks and 2 steals on 62 percent shooting from the field. Bagley III has a big test this evening to show and prove that he's someone the Wizards should value moving forward as he faces Victor Wembanyama. Bagley at 6'10, has the strength and weight advantage over the number one overall pick, however, slowing Wembanyama down tonight, will make the bigger impact as Washington desperately looks to add more victories in the win column.
