Keep an eye on:
Conditioning: for the Wizards will be something to keep a close eye on. Washington, will take the floor in San Antonio for their first contest in two weeks. For an NBA team, that's an eternity. Then if you add in the possibility that Washington will be without EIGHT active players, (Thomas Bryant is out for the season with a torn ACL), and you should understand the tough task of the players being in the condition required to sustain a maximum level of play. Look for Scott Brooks to substitute early and often while using his timeouts to control the pace until the players get their conditioning up tp par.
Spurs Balance: scoring the ball is something Washington will have to find a way to disrupt of they want to win this game. San Antonio are first in the NBA in taking care of the ball, only averaging 10.3 turnovers a game. That's outstanding. There are players in the NBA damn near averaging half of that by themselves.
The Spurs also have SEVEN players averaging double figures in scoring. Spurs wing DeMar Derozan leads the way with 20.9 points, Dejounte Murray is next with 14.8 points, LaMarcus Aldridge and Keldon Johnson adds 14.5 and 14.3 points per game respectively. Lonnie Walker rounds out the starters posting 12.3 points a game while guard Patty Mills and Rudy Gay put up 14.1 and 11.7 points a contest. In other words, San Antonio have a lot of players opponents have to account for defensively. Washington has a tough test ahead and it's one that will test their mental toughness more then usual.
