Keep an eye on:
Celtics Offensive Efficiency: is among the best in the NBA. They can kill opposing teams in many ways. Boston is first in the NBA in three point makes (19.1) AND attempts (50.5), fourth in free throw percentage (81.9), second in turnovers (12.1) and second in points per game (121.5). Oh and Boston is third in the league with a 122.3 offensive rating.
Washington has no room for error defensively if they want to walk off the floor victorious. The Wizards come in to tonight's game with a 121.0 defensive rating....which is dead last in the NBA. While Boston can go many directions to attack opposing defenses, their main weapon of destruction is three point shooting. If Washington can somehow limit the Celtics three point shooting, it could disrupt Boston enough where the Wizards have a legit shot to pull off a big win.
Jayson Tatum:.....duh right? Tatum is playing at an MVP through 15 games this season, averaging 29.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.4 assists on 46.4 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from three point territory and 81.3 percent from the charity stripe. Tatum has scored 24 or more points, pulled down 6 or more rebounds and dished out 6 or more assists over the Celtics last five games. In each of those games, he was knocking on the door of a triple double, averaging 28.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 8 assists over that span.
Washington has a tall order on their hands tonight in attempting to cool off Tatum. Doing so will go a long way towards getting a much needed win. Expect Wizards head coach Brian Keefe to throw numerous defenders at Tatum, which will include Bilal Coulibaly, Kyshawn George and Kyle Kuzma.
