Washington Mystics vs Atlanta Dream Preview

Updated: May 20, 2022

Mystics 4-1 vs Dream 4-1

When: Friday, May 20th, at 7:30p.m.

Where: Gateway Center, College Park, GA

TV: Twitter

Injury

Mystics: Elena Delle Donne (Out, Back)

Dream: Monique Billings (Out, Health & Safety Protocol), Tiffany Hayes (Out, Rest)

Keep an eye on:

Rhyne Howard: has been good as advertised. The number one overall pick isn't just playing like the favorite to win rookie of the year, she's playing like an All Star. Howard leads the Dream in scoring at 20.4 points per game, while pulling down 4.6 rebounds and dishing out 2 assists. She's also been strong defensively, averaging 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per contest. I'm sure Mystics head coach Mike Thibault will throw various defenders at the 6'2 rookie sensation. Slowing her down is pivotal to Washington’s chances of winning tonight.

3-Point Shooting & Rebounding: is something Washington need to win at if they want to be victorious tonight. The Dream come in second in the WNBA in 3-point shooting, converting 38.9 percent from deep, while also ranking second in rebounding, grabbing 37.8 boards per game. Washington will need to run the Dream off the 3-point line and keep bodies on their bigs to have an advantage on the boards.
