In our new episode of The Probe, we spotlight Xavier's All Big East forward Naji Marshall. He’s a tough, versatile player. And when I say tough, it’s not just physically, it’s mentally as well. Been covering him since he played for Eleanor Roosevelt and Premier on the UA circuit and his approach has been the same, be relentless. 6’7 junior forward from Xavier is one of the top players in the Big East if not the best. No he’s not the flashiest or freakish of athletes, but he’s skilled, tough, smart and stays within himself and that’s what separates him. He improved in points (7.7 to 14.7), rebounds (4.4 to 7.2), assist (1.6 to 3.4) and steals (.7 to 1.1) from his freshman to sophomore season last year, earning All Big East Conference second team honors. With another leap in his game, specifically with being more efficient shooting the ball, he will be in the running for All American honors and will no doubt hear from NBA front offices sooner than later.
Let’s take a look at Marshall leading Xavier against Seton Hall last season below.
