Keep an eye on:

Continued Focus Defensively: is what head coach Scott Brooks has been preaching about all of training camp and that will carry on into tonight's match-up against Detroit. In their preseason opening loss to the lethal Brooklyn Nets, the Wizards showed they were heading in the right direction on the defensive end in stretches, especially in the third quarter where they held the Nets to 22 points. Washington also outrebounded Brooklyn 47-41 and finished the game with eight steals. However, the goal is to put together a full 48 minutes, game in and game out.

Pistons Returning Home: will be a sense of pride for the DMV. Pistons guard Rodney McGruder ( Archbishop Carroll), forward Jerami Grant (DeMatha), rookie forward out of Villanova Saddiq Bey (Sidwell Friends) and General Manager Troy Weaver (DC Assault/ PGCC) all earned their stripes coming up in the ultra competitive DC area. While there won't be any family and friends in attendance, they will be tuned in and watching these home grown products represent the area proudly on the biggest stage in basketball.
