Keep an eye on:

Debut of Deni Avdija and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: should give us an early preview of the new depth that was added to this roster during the offseason. Avdija, who averaged 6.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists on nearly 42 percent shooting from the field, showed flashes of brilliance that made him the 9th pick of the 2020 NBA draft before his rookie season was cut short with a fracture to his right fibular. Now healthy with a full offseason to properly train and NBA experience under his belt, we will get to see how much Avdija has grown.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is coming off a season where he shot a career high 41 percent from deep for the Lakers and was one of their better wing defenders. Both skills that Caldwell-Pope excelled at are welcomed additions to a Wizards team that was among the worst in the NBA last season in those two areas. With Avdija and Caldwell-Pope joining the team, it gives Washington time to start to build valuable chemistry. New York will pose a great test for us to see just how far along Washington's chemistry truly is.
