Notes – After dropping season openers, both teams look to earn their first victory of the season in a cross town match-up

Keep an eye on:

Turnovers: killed George Washington in their season opening loss to Towson. It took them out of any rhythm offensively as well as halting any potential runs to take the lead. An even bigger concern is where the majority of the turnovers came from....the Colonials back court. Freshman point guard Jameer Nelson Jr, who had a solid all around debut with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assist and 3 steals, turned the ball over six times while junior shooting guard Maceo Jack added four of his own. 10 of your teams 15 turnovers is obviously not ideal if you hope to control pace and win games. This must be cleaned up immediately especially with Howard coming into town who wants to force turnovers and get out and run.

Colonials Front Court: Must answer the challenge inside. Towson got whatever they wanted inside, from winning the rebounding battle to outscoring GW 25-20. Towson's reserve forward Juwan Gray nearly outscored the entire Colonial front court by himself with 17 points. Senior forward Arnaldo Toro (7 points, 10 rebounds) can't do it alone, the other front court players must step up on both ends to secure their first win of the season. They will be tested. Howard's 6'8 junior Zion Cousins is coming off a debut where he displayed his versatility, posting 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assist on 5-8 shooting from the field.
