In a defensive slugfest between two crosstown rivals, George Washington battled back from a 13 point second half deficit, largely in part due to freshman point guard Christian Jones scoring 15 of his team high 17 points in the second half, however, a clutch basket from George Mason forward Jalen Haynes with 47 seconds left, along with free throws from Zach Anderson and K.D. Johnson in the final 30 seconds, propels the Patriots to a season sweep of the Revolutionaries, 53-50.

GW center Rafael Castro added a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Haynes finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists to lead George Mason.
