Washington, after a hard fought first half took a 54-52 lead into halftime and remained positive that if they could put together another quality half, they would hold on for the win. Boston, specifically Jayson Tatum, wasn't having it. Boston jumped on Washington in the second half with a 17-2 third quarter run to take a 69-56, and never looked back, cruising to a 118-100 win.
Brad Beal, still bothered by an ailing hamstring, scored 22 points for Washington. Russell Westbrook added 20 points and 14 rebounds, while, Ish Smith posted 17 points off the bench. Washington continued their season long struggle with 3-point shooting only converting on 3 of 21 attempts from deep.
Tatum scored 32 of his 50 points in the second half to lead Boston. Kemba Walker added 29 points while Tristan Thompson added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
