Brad Beal had a night to remember, pouring in a career high 60 points, yet it wasn't enough as Philadelphia, led by Joel Embiid's 38 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists held on to take a 141-136 victory. Beal was off the charts in the first half, scoring 32 points on 11 of 16 shooting from field, which put him with Michael Jordan (34 points in 2001) and Gilbert Arenas (33 points in 2006 and 30 points in 2007) as the only Wizards to score 30 points in a half in the last 20 years.

Point Guard Russell Westbrook finished with 20 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds but left the game late with a dislocated finger. Davis Bertans added 17 points off the bench.

Guard Seth Curry posted 28 points on 11-14 shooting from the field and 6-7 from deep while Ben Simmons posted a near triple double with 17 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds.

Washington falls to 2-6 while Philadelphia is an NBA best 7-1.
