Keep an eye on:
Just Win Baby: Should be the theme for Washington as they close the regular season. Securing home-court advantage is quietly a priority for Washington and with the Connecticut Sun (23-9) only a game behind and owning the tie breaker, a loss couldn’t come at a worst time. The Mystics home crowd has emerged as the best in the WNBA, becoming a sixth player of sorts and it’s clear that teams are affected during games, which is obviously beneficial for the Mystics. Close out these last two games strong and home court is theirs in the playoffs.
Arike Ogunbowale: is on a terror right now and has emerged as a future star in the WNBA. The sensational rookie is averaging 18.5 points, 3.1 assist, 2.4 rebounds and 1 steal per game for the season and has become the first rookie in WNBA history to score 30 or more points in three consecutive games. Her lack of efficiency shooting the ball is something Washington can exploit, however, they will have to be cautious with their level of aggressiveness defending Ogunbowale, she’s one of the best in the league in drawing fouls and she makes opponents pay, shooting 80 percent from the line. Contain Ogunbowale and Washington should walk off the floor with their 25th win in hand.
