Evaluation:

One of the steadiest point guards in all of college basketball, Dowtin Jr is an ideal point guard. At 6'3, he can pass with the best of them while rarely turning the ball over, finishing last season with an insane 4.4 assist to turnover ratio which was third in the country. He's never rattled and can get in the lane and make plays non-stop regardless if it's scoring or passing to open teammates. A sneaky athlete with length Dowtin Jr can put up points in a flurry when he needs to be aggressive and is also a capable defender. While he's known for hitting big shots, he can become more consistent shooting the ball which will open up his overall game and take Rhode Island to another level. It's a big year for Dowtin Jr as he becomes the undisputed leader for a Rams program that is being led by long time assistant David Cox. If he rises to the occasion, it's not far fetch to expect Dowtin Jr to earn first round consideration in next June's NBA Draft.
