Slam Dunk To The Beach (Day Two) - Friendship Collegiate (DC)vs Dover High School (DE)


Friendship Collegiate point guard Alani Moore refused to let his team lose, scoring a game high 27 points to help Friendship capture their first win of the season

It was a tale of two halves when Friendship Collegiate took on Dover High School. The first half saw both teams struggle to gain a rhythm offensively, combining for 24 turnovers in the process as Friendship Collegiate went into the half with a 20 - 16 lead over Dover. The second half, was WAR! In the third, Dover star and Rider commit Jordan Allen exploded scoring eleven unanswered points in the quarter to put Dover ahead 34-30. Dover looked to carry the momentum from the big third quarter throughout the fourth as well. There was just one problem, Alani Moore. Moore simply took over in the fourth, scoring 20 points in the period to keep Friendship close. Finally with 19 seconds left and with Dover up 50-49, they inbounded the ball. to guard Troy Scott. Moore defended him great and managed to steal the ball from him and call a timeout in the process. Friendship inbounded the ball to none other than Moore himself. Moore drove and converted a tough lay-up to put Friendship up 51-50 with ten seconds left. Dover turned the ball over trying to inbound quickly to Friendship forward Keon Queen who quickly got the ball to the hot Moore before he was fouled. Moore calmly knocked down both free throws to put Friendship up 53-50 with seconds remaining. Dover guard Jordan Allen received the pass and quickly dribbled up court and launch a three pointer for the tie, it fell short, as Friendship celebrates their first win on the season in thrilling fashion.

Moore finished with a game high 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals while Jordan Allen led Dover with 19 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

Friendship Collegiate will take on Westtown Tuesday Decemeber 29th at 6pm
