The hype machine has been in full effect for DeMatha junior guard Markelle Fultz ever since a breakout 2014 summer in which he burst on the scene with a vengeance. A smooth 6'5 guard with a deadly mid range game, Fultz has been opening eyes throughout this entire season with his steady all around play. At the recent 2015 Spalding HoopHall Classic arguably the top high school basketball event in the country ran by the Basketball Hall of Fame, DeMatha took on nationally ranked Roselle Catholic out of New Jersey featuring Kentucky commit Isaiah Briscoe. This was a chance for Fultz to show the entire country what the fuss is all about...Fultz did not disappoint. Fultz was the best player on the floor as he posted 25 points (9-19 FG), 3 rebounds and 3 steals in leading DeMatha to a decisive win over Roselle Catholic 69-45 in front of a packed Blake Arena on the campus of Springfield College. Fultz performance proved that the hype was warranted and that he is indeed among not just the top guards, but the top players in the junior class. Highlights of Fultz dominating performance can be seen below.
